Invitation to Join the NBIMS—Business Process Integration Task Team (BPITT)

The U.S. National BIM Standard (NBIMS) Executive Committee has authorized the establishment of a Business Process Integration Task Team (BPITT) to facilitate identification and analysis, and to provide recommendations regarding the integration of BIM into the business models of all those who are involved in the facility life cycle. A partial list of stakeholders includes design service firms, contractors, owners, facility managers, product manufacturers, and regulatory agencies.

Through direct efforts and as the result of collaboration with other industry efforts and groups, the BPITT shall inform, educate, facilitate dialog and consensus, and provide direction to industry regarding the impact and opportunities that BIM will have on the facility life cycle. The BPITT is less interested in the technology per se, with a mission focused on the productive use and leveraging the technology across the facility life cycle. See a copy of the full BPI Task Team charge.

We are seeking interested parties to participate as active members in the efforts of this task team. As a Task Team member you will be expected to participate in regularly scheduled meetings and in the work of the Task Team.

Please contact David A. Jordani if you are interested in volunteering your time and expertise with your full contact information, including your job title/position description and a brief discussion identifying your role in BIM activities for your organization. We anticipate that most, if not all, of the work of the Task Team will be conducted via e-mail, conference calls and the Web, and that little or no travel will be required of Task Team members.
